About Me

Hi friends, family, fellow bloggers, lurkers, and friends I've yet to meet! So glad you're here.

Me: follower of Jesus, Mama, poet, writer, blogger, photographer of children, lover of good food

Hubby, Ben: pastor, Daddy, friend, preacher, smoker of meat, roaster of delicious coffee

Maddie: 5 1/2, going on fourteen, smart, vivacious, curious, lover of art, impressive vocabulary

Sam: 3 1/2, sweet, snuggly, smart, sneaky, lover of firetrucks & robots, future motorcycle rider

I started this blog six and a half years ago as a place to ponder, explore and vent. These days I write mostly about my funny and exhausting life as a mom. I suffer from ulcerative colitis and love to share grain-free, sugar-free recipes that taste great. I reflect on what it means to be a follower of Christ and the joys and struggles of leading his people in a new church. Sometimes I just post crazy thoughts.

Whatever you're looking for here, whether a photo of the kids (hi, grandparents!) or an inspiring word, I hope that in all things, God is glorified and his grace is spoken. Welcome to as the noonday!

*********

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause as the noonday. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him.
Psalm 37:5-7

Adorable Sun, I cannot walk without thee: enlighten my steps and furnish this barren and ignorant mind with thoughts worthy of thee. Adorable fullness of light and heat, be thou the true noonday of my soul; exterminate its darkness, disperse its clouds; burn, dry up and consume all its filth and impurities. Divine Sun, rise upon my mind and never set.
