Sabbath Adventures: SF Waterfront

This past Sabbath we had a couple stipulations for our adventure: 1) we only had four hours (pre-nap), 2) we needed to exercise, 3) we needed to eat.

After some discussion, we decided to head to the Wharf for a few hours of fun.

We parked our car a few blocks before the Ferry Building, right on the Embarcadero ($6 for 2 hours parking). We walked until Pier 39, which put us at about 1.5 miles, or a 3 mile roundtrip walk. Not bad.

We had never taken the kids to see the sea lions in all their loud, stinky, barking glory. It was all we expected, and more.

Bomber hat and wool sweater: welcome to SF in the Summer.

Maddie was wearing her Winter coat, backwards.

Hooray! A picture of me!

Sam was just as interested in the boats as he was the wildlife.

Next stop: Boudin for clam chowder in a bread bowl.
Everyone loved it!

The sun came out at lunch and we headed back to our parking spot, in just under two hours. Perfect!

Next time you have four hours and want an adventure, consider the waterfront. Fun, food, exercise and adventure!
